Metal_Artistry a pro member of Artfire since 2010 has created this unique necklace. Made out of blue and white sea glass, urchins, shells, and pebbles on a round silver textured pendant. Metal Artistry has amazing jewelry that are very unique it was hard to find just one to feature but this is just summer to me. How great to wear the beach on you as a great necklace. Here is a mini interview with Metal Artistry, enjoy!
"With an art background consisting of absolutely nothing, I started taking oil painting classes. Might as well start big. Well, I discovered you really do have to put in your time and do the work, so I started the journey of a lifetime by taking still and life drawing classes. To this day they are my mainstay for design, balance, symmetry, color and whimsy. Although I don't paint as often as I would like to I have taken the lessons learned and started making polymer clay pieces, then metal clay and now sterling, copper, and brass jewelry. I think I found my real passion (but who knows?)
I'm older than dirt and have the scars to prove it. My husband and I have traveled and lived all over the world and now call South Carolina home. We live near some very vibrant art communities that I try to visit whenever possible. My husband got tired of me working on my jewelry ever second of the day and night and started doing chain maile himself. He works on things that are detail demanding and I work on my jewelry which I consider unplanned and whimsical. We strike a good balance.
I usually make a piece based either on the last piece I made, which I wanted to improve on or change slightly or from a form I've seen in nature or a stone or bead that I have had sitting on my bench. I try to incorporate new techniques in my work to keep it fresh and to push my personal design and fabrication abilities.
I've been asked what my favorite animal and color is. Right now I can tell you it isn't a squirrel (they are ruining my garden) but I am enjoying the birds in my backyard. They keep me entertained by playing in the birdbath, and balancing on the bird feeders. I love watching them make nests and feed their babies. It's the whole cycle of life. Color wise - there is no better color than a fine copper. I love copper."
Thank you Metal Artistry for taking the time to let us all in on a little about you!
The-Art-Of-Tara a Artfire pro member has created this one of a kind dress. This is not a dress for the faint. This see through crocheted dress is a show stopper. The measurements of this dress are perfect for a curvy woman, I am in love with this dress. The dress is also adorned with black pearlescent and cear acrylic beads crochet around the top, waist and bottom of the dress. It is perfect for a taller woman as a cute mid calf or on a average size lady as a full length. Being it is see through it is a perfect excuse for getting the killer silk slip you want and never had a reason to buy. Make sure to stop by The Art Of Tara for one of a kind crochet dresses, shawls and ponchos.

In the Lolita fashion culture there are many different styles of Lolita, the main ones are Gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, classic Lolita and punk Lolita. You may ask yourself who wears these thing? Oh baby! Cute baby handmade clothing items for the wee little one.
Handmade for baby and toddler is endless. The market for heirloom pieces is great. Long last quality not found at the local mall. The artist that make these wonderful items take time and care for making them. Handmade baby clothing is great for gift giving, for yourself and will last to pass down to the next generation. Every family should have a heirloom piece to pass along. Now enjoy the best of baby.
Valmade has hand knitted this little white matinee jacket. Great for the summer season that is here. The pink trim is ever so dainty and ready for you little lady. A timeless piece that can be easily handed down. Valmade has been a Artfire pro member since 2008 and makes knitted clothing, special occasion cards and the cutest knitted stuffed animals and toys. Valmade was also great enough to be our featured interview today.
Tell us a little about you?
"My name is Val, hence the very obvious shop name. I'm originally from England though these days live and work in Hong Kong and do my crafting in my spare time. I also play field hockey with a team called the Dinosaurs (we're all too old to play competitively any more but want to still play) and am learning to sail as well."
How and when did you get started?'I was taught to sew and knit by my mother when I was very young. When I reached the age when all my friends started producing babies, they would receive a pair of knitted booties and a cross stitch birth announcement as gifts. Someone one day suggested I should sell them, so Valmade was born about 4 years ago and I found myself moving into card making as well!"
Where do you get you inspiration from?"All over the place. I'm always looking in magazines and shops to see what there is, and my friends help come up with suggestions as well. I love to try and re-use things that people throw out, so often get strange looks when gathering up the table decorations left after parties to use in my card designs!"
Your favorite animal and color? "My favourite animal is a dog. They are loyal and unquestioning, and my favourite colour is Turquoise."
Where else can we find you?"My main store is here on Artfire, but I also list to a lesser extent at Zibbet, Bonanza and Dawanda all under the name Valmade."
Thank you Val for your interview and we hope you have many sales, your items are so very cute.

What little boys are made of, custom crafted lasting pieces.
Boy will be the true test of anything you put in front of them. Playing hard and playing long, boys handmade will last longer than you think. Being a designer I love all colors and enjoy using my imagination to place colors together for the designs I come up with."
Anything else you would like to add?
"I have been working from home now for 10 plus yrs and enjoy every minute of it. With customers all over the world I have met some very special people from all walks of life. Day at the beach, perfect handmade pieces for fun in the sun.
When you think of swimwear you don't think of handmade, you think about retail stores charging a arm and leg for the top and bottom and most likely having a ill fitting suit. So in this entry I will be looking at a couple swimwear options for women and of course some jewerly, a beach bag and beautifully crafted sandals.
Earrings by, PinkFishDesigns a Pro member of Artfire has made these beautiful mother of pearl earrings. The fun geometric shapes are a very trendy item this summer. The mother of pearl earrings will go with any color of swimwear and white is always a in color. The earrings as the bounce against each other make a little windchime sound to remind you a summer day. PinkFishDesigns is also our mini interview for today so have fun reading a little bit about her.
Tell us a little about you/
"We are two sisters, Shannon and Helen, who decided about a year ago that we really enjoyed making jewelry and would like to make more of it, but needed extra money to do so, so we thought it would be a good idea to start selling our jewelry online. We both have full time jobs and have not been able to devote as much time as we would like to to making and selling jewelry. We are slowly building up our inventory and trying to develop a little bit of a web presence. Shannon is the older sister, and currently the one most likely to be posting in the Artfire forums and on our blog, Facebook, and Twitter pages. She never felt she was a very creative person growing up and never did a lot of art classes, but after surviving uterine cancer a few years ago, she started to feel like something was missing in her life and began looking for a creative outlet. Since then, she's taken up jewelry making and also enjoys taking classes not only in jewelry making, but in mixed media art, journaling, and anything else that sounds fun and fits into her schedule and her budget. Helen is the younger sister, she's married and has an almost 4 year old whose birthday will be next month. She's busy with her family and her job and training for a half marathon coming up in the fall. She's always been creative and was involved in art and drama classes throughout junior high and high school, and after trying a more traditional college, ended up graduating from culinary school. Jewelry making is just the latest pursuit in a life full of creative and artistic endeavors."
How and when did you guys get started?
"We started making jewelry just a few years ago, but quickly developed a love for it. We decided that we should try to sell our jewelry so that we'd have money to make more jewelry."
A little about the earrings and how you came to make it.
"Well, first of all, I should say, these earrings were made by Shannon, just so you know who's answering here. Honestly, I'd ordered the beads online when I was ordering some other stuff, just because I thought they looked cool. And then they sat in my stash for a while, and I'd pull them out and play with them and try to figure out what to do with them, but for a while, nothing really seemed quite right. I knew I wanted to do something that left them hanging free, because I love the sound they make as they move and bump into each other -- it's sort of like a very delicate windchime. That's an odd thing to think about for jewelry, but it's what had struck me most about those beads as I picked them up and played with them, so I decided to go with it. I do also love the way they look. They're big enough to make a statement, but in that classic mother-of-pearl finish that looks good with any color. I also thought the combination of circles and squares was just a lot of fun. I don't necessarily put a whole lot of planning and design into pieces, I just start putting stuff together and if I like the way it looks, I go with it, and if I don't, I take it apart and start over. "
What are your favorite animals and colors?
"Shannon - Cats, and red. Or maybe blue. And sometimes green. And all of them look better if they're sparkly.
Helen - Koala bears, and pink."
Where else can we find you?
"Our website, www.pinkfishdesigns.com, has links to everything, I think.

4th of July fashion for the girls. Clothing and accessories in red, white and blue.
Fourth of July is right around the corner and how cute it is to dress our girl in patriotic fashion from head to toe. Handmade offers style for the season that you can not beat and quality that you will be able to hand down.
First is a cute hair bow by, lilibugboutique, she has been a pro member of Artfire since 2009. The bow is so perfect for the fourth with the red and white and blue and white ribbon and the wooden star in the middle with a cute red button. The clip is a lined alligator clip so no sagging on delicate hair. Lilibug specializes in girls hair accessories, so if it's hair she has got the cute stuff!
Next up is, JoyfullySewnDesigns, she is a pro membr of Artfire. All three dress are her designs. Since I am a sucker for sisters all dressed alike I thought what a better time to showcase the sisterly cuteness. This dress is for the little ones it is a cute little sundress with matching bloomers. Got to love bloomers!
Up next from Joyfully is for you toddler, a fun little sundress that is ready for the fourth of July with traditional red, white and blue stars.
Up next is time for big sis with this cute custom pathwork skirt. The length is perfect for the whole day and well into the fireworks. Joyfully was nice enough to do a mini interview with me so read about Joyfully, she has a name it Sarah.
Who are you? Tell us a little about you.
Who are you? Tell us a little about you.
"My name is Sarah. I'm the second of three children (first girl). I'm pretty quiet, and don't usually talk a whole lot. I'm a good listener though. I'm shy around some people, but I love spending time with children!"
How and when did you get started?
"I started seriously sewing when I was 18, and I haven't really stopped since then (12 years ago). I've been doing custom sewing for about 11 years and finally opened up an online shop the fall of 2009. I love to create beautiful and feminine clothing for girls!"
Tell us a little about the dresses and how you came to make them.
"I created all three of the 4th of July outfits last year. I love Patriotic things, and this fabric was so cute, I just had to come up with something to make with it. I've sold quite a few of the shoulder tie sundresses! I love how they turned out - so simple, but so cute!"
Your favorite animal and color?
"My favorite animal - I guess I'd have to say birds. I love watching and feeding the birds in our back yard. It's always fun when we spot a variety we've never seen or that doesn't come around very often. My favorite color is and has been for YEARS, purple!"
Where else can we find you?
"I have a blog that I try to keep up with regularly. You'll find special coupons, sales, and sneak previews there that you won't find other places! http://whatsoeveryedo.blogspot.com"
A girls got to have matching shoes, FiestaKidsBoutique, pro Artfire member has made these very cute red, white and blue baby shoes. Fiesta makes a wonderful assortment of baby shoes, crib shoes and baby booties, make sure to check out her shop for all your baby feet needs.
As you see dressing you little ones in cute and comfortable handmade clothing and accessories is easy. What is even better is no other little girls will be wearing the same thing and the items are all modest. Modesty is lost in department stores, for some reason they think we need to dress our little girls as women and models. Kids grow up quick enough let them enjoy the fun and playtime of just being a kid!
Handmade is quality made! Support handmade, buy handmade there is a face behind each piece!

The little girls we love. Girls handmade head to toe look.
Sugar, spice and everything pink and nice that is what little girls are made of. I would love to be able to dress half as cute as the little girls can. Frilly skirts, fancy party dresses and accessories to love. Handmade for little girls is fun and will last. Check out my little girls head to toe for today.
First for the head from, TracysDesigns1 , this is a super cute matching piece for you the little girl in your life and her favorite doll. The pink color is the "it" color of 2011 with the green stripe and flower. TracysDesigns1 is also our first mini interview. So read on!
Tell us a little about you;
"My name is Tracy and I love sew, crochet, and travel. I have been on a few missions trips to Honduras, where I taught sewing classes. I was thrilled to be able to use the talents God has given me (sewing/crocheting) with my love for traveling!"
How and when did you get started?
"One of my grandmothers' loved to crochet and she made such beautiful things that as a little girl I begged her to teach me. When I turned 5 years old she agreed I was old enough to learn. And I haven't put the crochet hook down since! My other grandmother loved to sew costumes, so I always had lots of fun dress-up clothes! It didn't take long, though, before I wanted to do more then just wear the clothes, I wanted to make them too. So, I've also been sewing since I was very young."
Tell us a little about the matching hat and how you came to make it;
"When I found out that my brother and sister-in-law were going to have their first child I wanted to crochet the baby a hat! So, I started out looking for a pattern, but ended up designing my own. I crocheted my niece a hat and enjoyed making it so much that I started crocheting more! I love the pink & green color combo."
What is your favorite animal and color?
"I don't really have a favorite animal. As far as my favorite color, that's easy! It's Teal! If something is available in a teal color, I'll most likely love it!"
Where else can we find you?

Handmade clothing and fashion. Head to toe handmade looks.
The world of clothing a fashion is wide spread. I personally love the independent clothing, fashion, jewerly and head wear designers out there. With the internet being at our hands finding these handmade artist is easy but figuring out who the good ones are is a little harder. I'm going to find my favorites and throughout this blog post them. I will be posting clothing for women, men, and kids and also all that goes with making the look fashionable, jewerly, purses and more. I will be reasearching each artist and try to post only artist in good standing with buyers so to make this easy for you and so you feel good about your purchase. Make sure to also do your research.
